Meet at the courthouse square in Bastrop for rides of 29, 37 and 52 miles. These scenic and challenging rides course through the loblolly pine carpeted red clay hills of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. A new out-and-back option goes to Kovar and back. Meet at Liberty Hill Elementary School on Loop 332, just west of downtown Liberty Hill. These 25- and 50-mile intermediate level rides follow quiet back roads over the picturesque Jollyville Plateau with a few moderate hills. April 20 -- Cedar Park Fever -- 8:00 am
Meet at CC Mason Elementary on the north side of the school in Cedar Park. From Hwy 183 north, turn left on FM 1431. Take FM 1431 to the third light (Lakeline Blvd) and turn right. The school is 0.5 a mile north of the FM 1431/Lakeline intersection, on the left. These are easy to intermediate rides of 15, 32, 56 and 76 miles in the Hill Country. Meet in the parking lot at the NE corner of Wall St. and Cross Park Dr. in NE Austin. Take Cameron Rd. north off Hwy 183, and turn right on Cross Park Dr. The second left is Wall St. The 29-, 38- and 52-mile routes cover rolling farmland. Meet at the Park & Ride lot, approx. 0.5 mile north of the Hwy 95/Hwy 290 intersection (in front of high school baseball field) in Elgin. These rides of 24 or 53 miles through flat to slightly rolling terrain are suitable for novice riders. The long route goes through historic Coupland. ROUTES of approximately 14 (Family Circle), 30, 45, 62 (100K) miles with START & FINISH at the Georgetown High School Ninth Grade Campus. All routes pedal through moderately flat terrain interspersed with rolling hills on the eastern side of Williamson County. Riders must obey all traffic laws. Helmets must be worn. Rest Stops will be available throughout the ride. SAG vehicles will be patrolling the routes to help with mechanical troubles and to pick up riders with any problems. Start at Pillow Elementary School, 3025 Crosscreek Dr. From Mopac/Loop 1 take the Steck exit. Go east one block to Shoal Creek. Meet at the Scudder Primary School in Wimberley, about 0.25 mile south of FM 2325 on Green Acres Road. (Green Acres road is at the first, and only stop light west of RR 12 on FM 2325). Route options of 7 to 72 miles. Ride through the beautiful Hill Country with options to check out the view from the rest stop on Devil's Backbone, Canyon Lake and Blanco. May 03 -- Dripping Springs Favorites -- 8:00 am
A new revision of an old route. Meet at Dripping Springs ISD Administration building, on the north side of Hwy 290, about 3/10 of a mile west of the traffic light at Hwy 12. (The admin building is on Loop 64). The 17-, 30-, 45- and 58-mile rides follow Onion Creek and then climb across the Great Divide into the Blanco River Basin, offering one of the most spectacular cycling views anywhere. Come out and meet the ACA club officers, ride with 'em and then grab some chow with 'em after the ride. This ride will be great for beginners and anyone interested in learning more about the ACA. We'll have rides of 20, 44 and 59 miles through the New Sweden flatlands north east of Austin. Meet at Dessau Middle School on Dessau Rd., between Parmer Lane and Howard Lane. May 10 -- $$$ Armadillo Hill Country Classic $$$ -- 8:00 am
Austin, TX (Actually, Liberty Hill and Bertram, TX depending on your ride.) Classic routes of 14, 28, 42, 51, 62, 80, and 105 miles leave from Liberty Hill High School while the 6.5-mile Kids and Family Ride leaves from Bertram. $30 until 5/03, then $40. Family ride is $15/adult with kids riding free if accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is Austin Cycling Association's annual fundraising ride to support bicycle safety education classes and free helmets for kids. Hook up for a joint ride with the Sun City TX Cyclists. North on I-35, take exit 261A. Follow access road to traffic signal at Williams Drive. Turn left (west) onto Williams Drive and go about 5 miles to Sun City entrance (right turn in at traffic signal). Follow Del Webb Blvd, cross bridge, then after passing entrance sign to Legacy Hills Grill and Clubhouse, take next right at a sign listing Community Center onto Texas Drive for about two blocks, then left into large parking lot in front of Community Center which is the second large building. Do not park in the vicinity of the first building. That is the Fitness Center. The 7 and 14-mile options inside of Sun City are perfect for the beginner or family. Meet one block north of Lakeline and RR1431 in Cedar Park. Signs will mark parking at Carriage Hills swimming pool parking lot. Ride will head North on Lakeline Blvd, turn right onto Crystal Falls Pkwy and out to Andice, Texas via Ronald Reagan Boulevard. With the approaching fall weather, enjoy traversing rolling hills and valleys as you appreciate the absolute allure of the Hill Country. Cue sheets will be provided. Join us for lunch at one of the fine South Congress (aka SoCo) eateries after the ride. From Ben White (aka US 290 West) take the Congress Avenue exit and head toward downtown. Follow Congress 1.75 miles to Mary Street. Turn right on Mary. Fulmore Middle School is on the right. May 17 -- $$$ Tour de Cure (Day One) $$$ -- 8:00 am
Join ACA's team - Austin Cycling Association/SAW - for a fun weekend of rides from San Antonio to Austin to help prevent and cure diabetes. Day one starts at Pearson (formerly Harcourt Assessment) at 19500 Bulverde Road in San Antonio at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17. The challenge is your choice! You can ride a 14 mile family fun ride which loops back to the start line or you can ride a 52 or 81 mile route to Texas State University. In San Marcos, riders will have the option of overnight stay at the TSU dorms. See the Tour de Cure website <tour.diabetes.org/> for more info and registration.
May 18 -- Pedernales Pedal -- 8:00 am
If you enjoy our Dripping Springs to Johnson City ride you'll love this ride! We'll take in part of that same route, but return to Dripping Springs via different routes. Bring plenty of water, as the only water stop available is on the 63 mile ride. The only water on the 30 mile ride would require a 5 mile total diversion into Pedernales Falls State Park. Rides start at Dripping Springs High School. From the 'Y' (US 290 and SH 71 intersection) in southwest Austin, follow US 290 to Dripping Springs. Go to Tiger Lane 1.9 miles west of the RR 12/US 290 intersection in Dripping Springs. Turn left on Tiger Lane and the high school will be on the left. Frank 512/246-7482

May 24 -- Old San Antonio Road -- 8:00 am
Meet at Williams Elementary School at Mairo and Blue Valley Dr. (one block east of South First Street and six blocks south of William Cannon) for a select-your-own-distance ride of up to 55 miles. Cruise through the stone-age landscapes of far west Travis County. Routes of 24 to 60 miles go through and around some of the scenic Golden Cheeked Warbler and Black Capped Vireo habitats. Meet at the Leander School warehouse parking lot in Leander. Take Hwy 183 north past Cedar Park. The cross-street at the stop light in Leander is Hwy 2243 to the right and South St. to the left. June 07 -- AHCC Volunteer Appreciation Ride -- 9:00 am
SPECIAL START TIME! Meet at The Party Barn just west of Bertram (10 miles NW of Liberty Hill on Hwy 29) as we thank our volunteers who helped make this year's Armadillo Hill Country Classic a success. The Party Barn is located north of Hwy 29 on CR 252 (CR 252 is just west of FM 243 in Bertram look for the yellow Armadillo signs to guide you to the ride and party). Everyone is welcome to join us for rides of 26 to 55 miles, but after the ride we'll have a special party for our volunteers sponsored by the Bertram Chamber of Commerce. The party will feature pizza, supplied by the Burnet County Sheriff's Department Pizza Wagon (yum, yum) and beverages for our volunteers (we'll know who you are - yet another incentive to volunteer). Ride the gentle hills of the Edwards Plateau all the way to Lake Victor (where's the lake?). Join us in for local legend and former owner of Rocky Hill Ranch (mountain bikers are probably familiar with this place), Paul Uhl's recommended Smithville area road ride. The ride covers the some of great roads of Bastrop and Fayette County with options of 17, 41 and 58 miles. Be sure to bring plenty of water for the medium and long distance rides as the only stores are available on the 58 mile option in Flatonia. From Austin, take SH 71 east to Smithville. Meet at the new elementary school (the one with the red roof) on the NE side of Hutto. From Hwy 79 in Hutto go north 0.6 miles on FM 1660 and turn right on the county road at the edge of town.
